Warp Drive Ship Mechanics & Tiers
Ships are categorized by their Mass (total number of non-air blocks) and Volume (the bounding box size). These stats determine where the ship can travel and how much energy it consumes.
Ship Tiers
| Tier | Classification | Max Mass (Blocks) | Capabilities |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Shuttle | < 3,000 | Can land on and take off from planets. |
| 2 | Corvette | 3,000 - 10,000 | Requires space-based construction; too heavy for planet landing. |
| 3 | Frigate/Capital | > 10,000 | Capable of engaging Hyperdrive for long-distance travel. |
Movement Costs
- Standard Jump: 10 EU (40 RF) per volume block + 100 EU (400 RF) per block distance.
- Hyperspace Transition: Requires a flat fee of 10,000,000 EU (40,000,000 RF).
- Hyperspace Travel: 10x cheaper and 5x faster than normal space travel.
Mass Constraints
Ships with a mass lower than 3,000 blocks are light enough to overcome planetary gravity. Larger ships must be built directly in the Space dimension or at a space station. If a ship exceeds its tier's mass limit, it may fail to jump or consume excessive power.
