Use Distant Horizons with Custom Shader Lighting

Enable Distant Horizons Rendering

The Vulkanic Light Engine Mod works alongside Distant Horizons to render far terrain with proper shader lighting applied. This creates a seamless, lit landscape far beyond your normal render distance.

1. Install and enable the Distant Horizons mod

2. Ensure Vulkan is enabled in Video Settings and your shader pack is active

3. Distant Horizons will automatically use your shader's lighting profiles to render distant terrain

4. Adjust your render distance and Distant Horizons LOD settings as normal

Visual Result

When both mods work together, you'll see distant mountains, forests, and terrain rendered with the same volumetric lighting, fog, and color grading as your shader pack applies to nearby chunks. This eliminates the jarring pop-in effect and creates a cohesive, atmospheric world.

No special configuration is required — the mod handles shader profile compatibility automatically. Your distant terrain will light up with sunlight rays, fog effects, and reflections just like the foreground.
