Getting Started with Vulkan Renderer Mod

Installing and Running Vulkan Renderer Mod

Vulkan Renderer Mod replaces Minecraft's OpenGL renderer with a Vulkan-based one to improve performance. Before installing, confirm your GPU supports Vulkan 1.2 or higher. On Linux, you can check by running vulkaninfo in a terminal.

This is a client-side mod, so no server installation is needed. Install it through a trusted Minecraft launcher, then launch the game normally. The mod uses a custom voxel rendering engine rather than a simple OpenGL port, so rendering behavior may differ from vanilla.

AMD GPU users benefit the most, since AMD hardware takes full advantage of Vulkan. NVIDIA users also see gains, though typically less than AMD. Linux and macOS support may be limited or unreliable despite native Linux support, including Wayland.

If you hit a "Vulkan Loader not found" error, update your GPU drivers. When reporting other problems, include logs, crash reports, and your mod list.
