Identify Your Performance Bottleneck

If your game stutters while chunks are generating in the background, the generator is likely running too fast for your system. Open your debug screen (F3) to monitor frame rate and chunk generation activity.

Adjust Generation Speed

1. Navigate to config/voxyworldgenv2.json in your game directory

2. Locate the generationSpeed setting

3. Lower the value incrementally—try reducing it by 25% first

4. Save the file and restart your world

5. Test gameplay and monitor frame rate

6. Continue adjusting downward until performance stabilizes

Alternative: Disable Passive Generation Temporarily

If you need immediate performance relief, toggle enablePassive to false in the config file. This stops background chunk generation entirely. Re-enable it when you're ready to resume, or keep it off during intensive activities like building or combat.

Monitor Results

After each adjustment, fly or travel through your world to test responsiveness. The goal is smooth gameplay while chunks still load in the distance. You may need to experiment to find your system's sweet spot.
