Enable Chunk Preloading for Smoother Exploration

Understand Passive Generation

Voxy Worldgen's background generator creates chunks while you play, sending terrain data directly to the visual system. This allows you to fly or travel long distances without chunk load stutters. The feature is enabled by default but can be toggled.

Verify Generation is Active

1. Check your config file at config/voxyworldgenv2.json

2. Confirm enablePassive is set to true

3. Restart your world if you made changes

Optimize for Your Playstyle

If you plan extended exploration flights, increase generationSpeed slightly to preload chunks faster ahead of you. Start with small increases and monitor performance. For casual play, the default speed usually works well.

Verify It's Working

Fly upward or use a flight mod to gain altitude. Watch the debug screen or look for the generation status overlay. You should see chunks rendering smoothly in the distance without the typical loading pause. If chunks still pop in suddenly, your generation speed may be too low for your travel speed.
