Bridging outward into the void increases your building space and allows you to gather more resources. Safe bridges prevent accidental falls into the endless sky.

Building a Secure Bridge

1. Start at the edge of your starter island

2. Place blocks in a straight line, extending outward into the void

3. Make your bridge at least 3 blocks wide to prevent accidental falls

4. Consider building railings on both sides using fences or walls for extra safety

5. Extend the bridge to a distance you're comfortable with, then create a new platform

Design Considerations

Build bridges gradually rather than all at once—test stability and visibility as you go. Use cobblestone from your generator for bridges since it's abundant. Leave gaps or markers so you can navigate back to your main base in low-light conditions. Once you've created a new platform, you can build another base section there, farm crops, or set up additional generators. Always look down occasionally to ensure you haven't drifted into the void.
