Adjust Shadow Quality and Intensity
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu by pressing the designated shader settings key (usually accessed through your shader loader's menu). Look for the Vivid Lucid Shadows configuration panel.
Modify Shadow Parameters
Locate the shadow-related sliders and toggles:
- Shadow Distance: Controls how far shadows render from your character. Reducing this improves performance on lower-end systems while keeping nearby shadows sharp.
- Shadow Softness: Adjusts the blur and feathering of shadow edges. Higher values create softer, more realistic shadows but may impact frame rate slightly.
- Shadow Intensity: Controls how dark shadows appear. Lower values create gentler lighting, while higher values produce more dramatic contrast.
Test Your Changes
Apply settings and observe the changes in real-time. Move between sunny and shaded areas to see how adjustments affect different lighting conditions. If you experience frame rate drops, reduce shadow distance or softness first, as these have the largest performance impact.
Save Configuration
Confirm and save your preferred settings. They will persist across game sessions unless you reset to defaults.
