Use Debug Mode to Inspect Screen Elements

Enable the Debug Window

Open the mod settings and locate the debug mode option. Toggle it on. A debug window will now appear on screen whenever you open any menu or container.

Read Screen Information

The debug window displays:

  • Screen class name — the internal identifier for the current menu
  • Slot numbers — numeric IDs for each inventory slot visible on screen
  • Coordinate data — position information for UI elements

Identify Custom Animation Targets

Open different containers (chests, furnaces, crafting tables, custom mod screens) and note their class names and slot layouts. This information is essential for creating custom animation datapacks.

Prepare for Datapack Creation

Write down or screenshot the class names and slot numbers you want to animate. You'll reference these values when creating JSON configuration files for custom motion effects.
