Optimize Performance While Keeping Animations

Identify Performance Bottlenecks

Enable debug mode to monitor which screens trigger the heaviest animations. Container opening and item movement effects typically consume the most resources.

Selectively Disable Heavy Effects

In the settings menu, disable animations that:

  • Play on screens you use frequently (inventory, hotbar)
  • Affect many slots at once (large storage containers)
  • Run continuously rather than on-demand

Keep animations enabled for screens you open less often, like crafting tables or furnaces.

Adjust Animation Timing

If the mod includes duration or speed settings, reduce animation length slightly. Faster animations use fewer frames and consume less CPU.

Monitor Frame Rate

Open your debug screen (F3 on most setups) while interacting with menus. If frame rate drops significantly when animations play, disable more effects or reduce their complexity.

Test Different Combinations

Experiment with different toggle combinations to find the balance between visual polish and smooth gameplay that works for your system.
