Create a Custom Health and Hunger Bar Display

Understanding Status Variables

The mod provides access to your player's vital statistics through built-in tags. Health and hunger are among the most commonly displayed values for survival gameplay.

Setting Up the Bars

1. Open your HUD configuration file

2. Use the appropriate tags for health and hunger (these are typically {health} and {hunger} or similar—check your mod's tag documentation)

3. Decide on a visual style: text numbers, bar graphics, or both

4. Position them where they won't obstruct your view

Adding Visual Bars

If your mod supports status bar rendering, you can display graphical bars that fill/empty based on your current values. Configure the bar width, height, and colors in your config. Position these bars below or beside your health/hunger numbers for a complete status display.

Testing Your Setup

Take damage or eat food to verify your bars update correctly. Adjust positioning or sizing if needed. You can layer multiple elements—for example, show both a bar and a text percentage for redundancy.
