How to Use Visuality Reforged Without Hurting Server Performance
A common worry with visual mods is whether they will lag a multiplayer server or get you flagged. Visuality Reforged is designed to avoid this entirely, and understanding why helps you use it confidently.
Why It Is Safe on Servers
The mod is entirely client-sided. All the particles it adds are rendered on your own game client, not simulated or tracked by the server. The server never knows the particles exist, so it does no extra work and other players see nothing different. You can join vanilla-compatible servers that allow client-side mods without adding load.
Keep Your Own FPS Stable
While the server is unaffected, your client still renders the particles, so a very busy scene with many effects could cost you some frames. If you notice stutter during large fights or in crowded areas, open the config and disable the heaviest categories, such as mob hit particles during combat. You can also lower your overall Minecraft particle setting.
Be Mindful of Server Rules
Some servers restrict which client-side mods are allowed even when they do not affect gameplay. Check the server's rules before joining. Since Visuality Reforged only changes visuals and gives no gameplay advantage, it is usually permitted, but the final call is always the server's.
