How to Change Visuality Reforged Particle Settings In-Game

Visuality Reforged is a client-side mod, so all of its options live on your machine and never touch the server. That means you can freely tweak particles without worrying about lagging anyone else or getting kicked.

Opening the Config

If you have a mod menu installed, open it and find Visuality Reforged in the mod list, then click its config button. This opens the in-game config UI where every particle type is listed with its own toggle. If you do not have a mod menu, you can instead edit the visuality/config.toml file inside your Minecraft instance folder. Close the game before editing the file so your changes are not overwritten on exit.

What You Can Toggle

Each particle category is controlled separately, so you can keep the effects you like and disable the ones you find distracting. Common categories include crystal sparkles, mob hit particles, slime blob particles, and environmental effects like raindrops on water. Turning a category off stops that particle from spawning entirely, which is useful if a specific effect clutters your screen during combat or building.

Applying Changes

After saving in the config UI, changes usually apply immediately. If you edited the .toml file by hand, restart the game to load the new values. If something looks wrong, delete the config file and let the mod regenerate defaults on next launch.
