Locating Available Keys

When you want to bind a new function but aren't sure which keys are still free, the Visual Keys Mod shows you exactly which keys have no assignments.

Steps

1. Open the Visual Keys screen

2. Scan the keyboard layout for keys that are not highlighted, colored, or labeled

3. These unmarked keys are completely unbound and available for use

4. Note a key you'd like to use (consider ergonomics and accessibility)

5. Open your Keybind Settings

6. Find the function you want to bind

7. Press the unassigned key you selected to bind it

Tips for Key Selection

Prefer keys that are easy to reach during gameplay. Function keys (F1–F12) and number pad keys are often good choices. Avoid keys you use frequently for other functions. The Visual Keys layout helps you see the "shape" of your keybinds—try to keep related functions near each other for intuitive control schemes.
