Troubleshoot Missing or Incorrect Enchantment Textures
Common Texture Problems
If your enchanted armor still shows the default purple glow instead of custom textures, or if textures appear incorrect, follow these steps.
Diagnostic Checklist
1. Confirm Optifine is active: Launch the game and check the main menu—it should say "Optifine" in the bottom left corner
2. Verify the pack is enabled: Open Options → Resource Packs and ensure Visual Enchants is in the active column
3. Check pack order: Move Visual Enchants to the top of your active list to prevent conflicts with other packs
4. Restart your world: Close to title screen and reopen your world
5. Clear cache: Delete your shader cache or resource pack cache if textures remain broken
If Problems Persist
- Ensure you're using a compatible Minecraft version
- Try removing other resource packs temporarily to isolate conflicts
- Verify the pack file isn't corrupted by re-extracting it
- Check that your enchanted items are actual enchanted gear, not unenchanted items with enchantment glints from other mods
Once textures load correctly, you should see unique designs on all enchanted helmets across all supported materials.
