How to Remove or Replace Vision Enchantment

Removing Vision from a Helmet

The Vision enchantment cannot be directly removed through normal Minecraft mechanics. Your options are:

1. Stop wearing the helmet — Simply unequip it to lose the Night Vision effect

2. Use a new helmet — Craft or obtain a different helmet without the enchantment

3. Replace it — Enchant a new helmet with different enchantments instead

Replacing with Other Enchantments

If you want a helmet with different enchantments:

1. Take a fresh helmet to an enchanting table

2. Use experience to apply new enchantments

3. The Vision enchantment won't appear unless you specifically add it

Grindstone Method

While a Grindstone normally removes enchantments, it will remove Vision along with any other enchantments on the helmet, leaving you with a plain helmet.

Consider keeping multiple helmets—one with Vision for dark areas, and others with Protection or Respiration for different situations.
