How to Use Visible Ores Plus in the Nether Without Missing Quartz or Gold

The Nether is where visibility packs earn their keep. Netherrack is busy and dark, and vanilla quartz and nether gold blend into it badly. Visible Ores Plus recolors them so you can strip-mine for quartz and gold efficiently.

Nether Ores and Where They Hide

Nether quartz and nether gold both generate on netherrack in all directions — walls, floors, and ceilings. Gilded blackstone generates in bastion remnants, not as a normal ore vein, so do not expect to find it while branch mining. If you want gilded blackstone, you are looting a bastion, not prospecting.

Efficient Nether Mining

• Tunnel at a comfortable height and check the ceiling every few blocks. Quartz on the ceiling is the single most commonly missed ore in the Nether.
• Nether gold looks similar in color to overworld gold but sits on red netherrack, so the contrast tells you immediately what you found.
• Bring fire resistance or at least a stack of blocks to bridge over lava lakes.
• Do not bother mining nether quartz with a low-tier pick if you are after experience; the pack helps you find it, but you still need the right tool to collect it.

Because the Nether has no day-night cycle, lighting is entirely on you. Place torches or glowstone as you go, or the brightened ore textures will not help in the dark.
