Overview

The Villages & Pillages Mod adds hostile settlements to Minecraft that mirror the layout of normal villages but are inhabited by pillagers, witches, and other dangerous mobs. These bandit villages exist to fill a gap in the game, giving players a reason to approach village-like structures with caution rather than comfort.

What You'll Find

Unlike peaceful villages, these settlements are populated by hostile residents, so exploring them means fighting through pillagers and witches rather than trading with villagers. The reward for clearing them out is loot: these villages contain chests filled with valuable items, making the risk worthwhile.

Witch Villages

A distinct variant, the Witch Village, spawns in swamps and mangrove biomes. These are built from mossy houses and feature bubbling cauldrons scattered among treacherous bogs, giving them a swampy, eerie character that sets them apart from the standard bandit village.

Tips

Come prepared for combat, since the inhabitants will not welcome you. Search thoroughly for chests, as the loot is the main draw of these structures.
