How to Configure Male and Female Name Options in Villager Names Mod
The Villager Names Mod lets you control whether male names, female names, or both are used when the mod assigns a name to an unnamed villager. This is handled through two config options: useMaleNames and useFemaleNames, both enabled by default.
Editing the Config
Open your Minecraft instance folder and navigate to the config directory. Find the Villager Names Mod config file and open it in a text editor. You will see the two boolean options. Set useFemaleNames to false if you only want male names used, or set useMaleNames to false if you only want female names. Setting both to false means the mod will not assign any names at all, which effectively disables the naming feature. Save the file.
Applying Changes
Restart Minecraft so the mod reads the updated config. Newly spawned villagers and any existing unnamed villagers will now be named according to your selection. Villagers that already received a name keep it, so if you want the new setting to apply to them you must clear their names or spawn new ones.
When to Use Each Setting
Some players prefer a themed village where all residents share one gender of name. Others keep both enabled for variety. If you are building a story-driven world, disabling one list can make your settlement feel more consistent.
