Maintain Stable Frame Rates While Using Enhanced Visuals

Monitor Performance Baseline

Before adjusting shader settings, check your current frame rate in a consistent location (same time of day, same biome). Use the F3 debug screen to see FPS.

Disable or Lower High-Impact Features

Start by reducing shadow distance or quality—these consume the most performance. Lower light scattering intensity and reflection quality if needed. Disable advanced water effects if frame rate drops significantly.

Test Different Biomes

Frame rate varies by environment. Open biomes with lots of sky show more scattering effects; dense forests and caves stress different systems. Test in multiple locations to find your stable threshold.

Adjust Render Distance Carefully

Vibroscat works best with moderate render distances. If you use high render distance, reduce shader intensity. Lower render distance lets you enable more visual features without stuttering.

Use Profiles

Create separate shader profiles: one optimized for performance, one for maximum visuals. Switch between them depending on whether you're building, exploring, or taking screenshots.
