Optimize Fog Performance on Lower-End Systems
Reduce Fog Render Distance
The Vibrant Fog Resource Pack can impact performance on systems with limited resources. Access the configuration files and look for render distance or draw distance settings related to fog. Lowering these values reduces the distance at which fog is calculated and rendered.
Disable Fog in Specific Biomes
If performance is still an issue, selectively disable fog for biomes you visit less frequently. This keeps the atmospheric enhancement where it matters most while freeing up processing power.
Lower Fog Density
Instead of removing fog entirely, reduce its density. This maintains the visual effect while requiring less computational overhead. Adjust opacity or thickness values downward in the configuration files.
Test Performance Impact
After each change, load into your world and monitor your frame rate using the debug screen (F3). Make incremental adjustments and test again to find the balance between visual quality and smooth gameplay.
Consider Disabling Animated Effects
If the pack includes animated sky or fog transitions, disabling these can provide a noticeable performance boost while retaining the core color enhancements.
