How to Join a Bedrock Server from Java with ViaFabricPlus
Enable Bedrock Compatibility
ViaFabricPlus can translate between Java and Bedrock protocols, letting a Java client connect to Bedrock servers. Open the mod's settings and look for the Bedrock-related options. You will typically need to enable the Bedrock protocol support and may need to provide account or authentication details depending on the server. Bedrock servers use a different handshake, so the mod handles the translation layer for you.
Add the Bedrock Server
In your multiplayer server list, add the Bedrock server's address. Bedrock servers usually use a different default port than Java servers, so make sure you enter the correct port if the server does not use the standard one. Give the entry a recognizable name so you do not confuse it with your Java servers.
Expect Differences
Bedrock and Java have different mechanics, so not everything will match. Inventory layouts, entity behavior, and some blocks may look or act differently. Chat formatting and skins may also differ. If you cannot connect, verify that the server allows third-party clients and that you entered the address and port correctly. Some Bedrock servers block non-Bedrock clients entirely, in which case no translation mod can help.
