Fix Chromatic Aberration if It's Too Distracting

Locate Chromatic Aberration Settings

Open your shader options menu and search for Chromatic Aberration or Color Shift controls. This effect separates red, green, and blue channels slightly at screen edges to mimic old camera lens distortion.

Reduce or Disable the Effect

If color fringing at the edges of your screen causes eye strain or makes aiming difficult, lower the chromatic aberration intensity slider. Most shader menus allow you to dial this down without removing it entirely.

For a more subtle found-footage feel, set it to a low value—just enough to notice but not enough to distract during combat or building.

Preserve the VHS Aesthetic

Disabling chromatic aberration completely removes part of the retro camcorder authenticity. Instead of turning it off, try reducing it to 30-50% intensity for a balanced approach.

Test your changes in different scenarios—bright outdoor areas and dark interiors show chromatic aberration differently. Adjust until the effect feels atmospheric rather than annoying.
