Adjust VHS Grain and Noise Intensity

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu by pressing the designated key (usually Right Shift + R or through your shader menu). Look for the VHS X BSL settings panel.

Fine-Tune Analog Effects

Locate the Grain Intensity or Noise Amount slider. This controls how much grainy texture appears on your screen—higher values create a more authentic damaged tape look, while lower values reduce the effect for visibility.

Adjust the Scanline Strength slider to control how prominent the horizontal lines appear. Strong scanlines create an authentic old TV effect; weaker settings are less distracting during gameplay.

Balance Visibility and Atmosphere

If the VHS effect makes it hard to see details, reduce grain and scanline intensity slightly. For horror maps or liminal space exploration, increase both for maximum creepy atmosphere.

Test your settings in different lighting conditions—caves, forests, and bright areas will show different levels of effect intensity. Reapply changes as needed until the retro look feels right for your playstyle.
