Reduce Glare and Adjust Brightness for Comfortable Play
Managing Visual Comfort
Veyluma NovaMist Shaders' cinematic styling can sometimes create bright spots or glare, especially during sunrise, sunset, or when looking at bright blocks. Adjusting brightness and glare settings improves comfort during long play sessions.
Brightness and Glare Controls
In Iris shader options, find these settings:
- Exposure/Brightness: Lower this value to reduce overall brightness without losing detail. Start with small decrements and test.
- Bloom Intensity: Bloom creates a glow around bright objects. Reducing this minimizes glare from sun, lava, and bright blocks.
- Contrast: Adjust to balance dark and bright areas if one feels overwhelming.
- Eye Adaptation: If available, enable this to let your eyes gradually adjust to lighting changes, reducing sudden glare.
Testing Comfort
Play in various lighting conditions: bright daylight, caves, and near light sources. The matte terrain aesthetic means reduced glare won't make the world look flat. If caves feel too dark after reducing brightness, slightly increase contrast instead of brightness to maintain visibility without glare.
