Change Your Server's Version Display Text

Locate the Configuration File

Find the Version Changer Mod config file in your server or client directory. This is typically a simple text-based configuration file that controls what version text appears in the main menu and server list.

Edit the Version Text

Open the config file with any text editor. Look for the field that controls the displayed version string. Replace the default Minecraft version text with your custom text. You can use:

  • Custom server names (e.g., "MyServer 1.0")
  • Themed version names (e.g., "Skyblock Edition")
  • Joke versions (e.g., "Definitely Not Outdated")
  • Any alphanumeric text and common symbols

Apply Changes

Save the config file. If your server is running, you may need to restart it for changes to take effect. For single-player worlds, restart the game client. The new version text will appear in the main menu corner and in the server list when other players view it.

Verify Display

Check the bottom-left corner of your main menu or the server information panel to confirm your custom version text is showing correctly.
