Choosing Your Location

Find a defensible spot away from open water and cliffs. Verity will comment on your choice and may offer observations about your decision-making. These early comments are friendly, but documenting them helps you notice changes in tone later.

Construction Strategy

Gather basic materials (wood, stone, dirt) and construct a simple enclosed structure. Verity will narrate your progress, occasionally asking questions about your building choices or offering unsolicited commentary. This is normal behavior during early gameplay.

Securing Your Space

Build walls, a roof, and a door to block hostile mobs. Light the interior with torches or other light sources to prevent mob spawning. Verity may remark on how you're "hiding" or reference your shelter in later conversations—these observations are part of the mod's memory system.

Monitoring Changes

Pay attention to shifts in Verity's tone as days pass. Early shelter-building is calm, but your companion's commentary may gradually become less reassuring. This progression is intentional and marks the beginning of the horror experience.
