Vein Mining Mod FAQ

Just mine any ore block with any pickaxe. The mod activates automatically the moment you break the first ore block, no setup, keybind, or enchantment needed.

No. The effect applies to every pickaxe in the game regardless of material or enchantments, so a plain wooden pickaxe works the same as a fully enchanted one.

It works on ore blocks, and it only chains blocks of the same ore type as the one you broke. Mining an iron ore won't pull in the coal next to it.

It depends on whether the mod recognizes that ore as an ore block. Ores from other mods that use standard ore tags or conventions usually chain, but some custom blocks may not.

Vein mining only chains ore blocks that are adjacent to the block you broke and to each other. Ores separated by stone, dirt, or air gaps won't be included, so you may need to break a second block to continue the vein.

The mod as described applies the effect automatically with no toggle. If you want to mine a single ore without chaining, break it with a tool that isn't a pickaxe or check your mod's config options if available.

All blocks in the vein drop their normal items at the location of the block you originally broke, so drops can pile up fast. Bring empty inventory space or a way to collect items before mining large veins.

Yes, each block mined in the vein consumes durability as if you mined it individually. A large vein can wear down a pickaxe quickly, so keep spare pickaxes or repair materials on hand.

Yes. The enchantments on your pickaxe apply to every block in the vein, so Fortune increases drops from the whole vein and Silk Touch gives you the ore blocks themselves.

Mining one block triggers many block breaks at once, which can cause a brief lag spike on large veins or busy servers. It's usually fine for normal play, but avoid chaining enormous veins on a lag-sensitive server.
