Solving Redstone Traps and Pressure Plate Puzzles
Identify Redstone Mechanisms
Redstone traps in Trial Chambers and other variants use pressure plates, pistons, dispensers, and repeaters to create hazards. Trace the redstone dust lines to understand how the trap connects. Pressure plates typically feed into dispensers (poison darts) or piston doors that seal you in.
Bypass Without Triggering
Carefully place blocks over pressure plates before stepping on them, or use a ranged item to activate them from a safe distance first. This lets you see what the trap does before committing. Some traps can be jumped over entirely if you approach from an unexpected angle.
Disable Permanently
Break the redstone dust lines connecting the pressure plate to the trap mechanism. Alternatively, remove the power source (redstone blocks or repeaters) or destroy the trap's output device (dispenser or piston). This prevents the trap from activating again.
Learn the Pattern
Each temple variant uses similar redstone logic, so once you've solved one Poison Temple, you'll recognize similar setups in others. Take notes on what works to speed up future explorations.
