How to Sit Anywhere with the Player Sitting Feature

Player Sitting is one of the headline features and it is on by default, so most players never realize they already have it. It lets you park your character on any block without a chair mod or a boat.

The Activation Gesture

Face straight down at the block you want to sit on, then crouch. The pack detects the downward look angle plus the sneak input and seats you on that spot. You do not need to right-click anything or hold a specific item.

Getting Up

Sneak again, or simply walk in any direction, and you stand back up. If you get stuck in a seated pose, jump once; that also breaks the sit state.

Where It Works

Any solid surface works, including slabs, stairs, and the tops of fences, which makes it handy for building a campfire circle or posing for screenshots. Sitting on a block that later gets broken will drop you back to standing automatically.

If It Does Not Trigger

Check that Player Sitting has not been disabled in /trigger vr.settings. Also make sure you are actually looking down far enough; a shallow glance at the floor is not enough, the camera needs to be pointed at the block beneath you. Standing on a block edge can also confuse the check, so step fully onto the surface first.
