Find and Use Lock Blocks with Keys
Understanding Lock Block Types
Vanilla Plus adds special locked chests and barrels that require keys to open. Two key types exist: Small Keys and Big Keys. Small Keys typically open standard locked chests, while Big Keys unlock more valuable or secure storage.
Locating Keys
Keys can be found in village treasure chests, dungeon loot, or crafted through recipes. Explore generated structures thoroughly—keys are often hidden as loot rewards for discovering new areas or defeating challenges.
Crafting Lock Blocks
You can craft locked chests and barrels using standard wood or material blocks combined with locking mechanisms. Once placed, these blocks remain sealed until opened with the correct key type.
Opening and Managing
Approach a locked block while holding the matching key and interact normally. The block opens just like a regular chest or barrel. You can remove the lock by breaking the block or using a key-removal recipe if available. Lock blocks are ideal for securing valuables in multiplayer worlds or creating puzzle-based storage systems.
