Using the Battle Command Staff

Craft or locate the Battle Command Staff—this is your primary tool for directing soldiers during combat. Hold the staff and look at your soldiers to issue orders.

Available Commands

The Battle Command Staff lets you set four types of orders:

• Attack: Direct soldiers to engage a specific enemy or location
• Follow: Make soldiers move behind you or another unit
• Hold: Keep soldiers in place and defend their position
• Retreat: Order soldiers to fall back and regroup

Setting Formations

Use the staff to arrange your army into tactical formations before battle. Group soldiers by role—mount your fastest units on pegasi for flanking, keep archers at range, and position melee fighters in front. You can adjust formations mid-battle by issuing new commands.

Managing Multiple Teams

If you're controlling multiple colored squads, switch focus between teams by aiming at different soldiers. Each team responds independently to your commands, allowing complex multi-front strategies. Practice issuing rapid commands to coordinate attacks across your entire force.
