Get Started: Complete Your First Quest and Gear Up

Open Your Quest Book

Press L to open your quest book immediately after spawning. This is your main guide through Vagrant Saga's progression system. The starter tasks will walk you through basic survival and crafting.

Complete Beginner Quests

Work through the initial quest chain to:

• Gather basic resources (wood, stone, food)
• Craft your first tools and weapons
• Learn about the survival mechanics unique to this modpack
• Earn your first rewards and experience

These quests are designed to give you essential starter gear without forcing you to guess what to do next.

Check Your Skills

Press K to open your skills menu. You'll see your current levels in combat, mining, magic, and other core abilities. Skills level up naturally as you perform related actions—fighting increases combat, mining increases mining skill, and so on. Don't worry about optimization early on; just play and your skills will grow.

Prepare for Survival

Before your first night, gather clean water and craft warm clothing. The modpack features dynamic seasons and temperature mechanics, so preparation prevents early death. Your quest book will remind you of these needs as seasons approach.
