Restoring and Decorating Ruined Sections
Assessing Damage
Walk through the fortress and identify which sections you want to restore. Broken walls, collapsed towers, and damaged bridges are the primary candidates. Decide whether to restore them to their original appearance or create your own architectural style using the existing dark stone aesthetic.
Repairing Structural Elements
Start with load-bearing walls and bridges—these are essential for safety. Use dark stone blocks to match the existing architecture. For towers, work from the bottom up to ensure stability. Replace missing roof sections with dark stone slabs or stairs to maintain the gothic appearance.
Adding Decorative Details
The purple stained glass windows are already striking focal points—enhance them by cleaning surrounding stonework and ensuring good lighting from inside. Add wooden beams and supports to reinforce the medieval aesthetic. Place the wooden tables and chairs in restored rooms to create functional gathering spaces.
Creating New Features
Use the ruined sections as opportunities to build new features—convert a damaged tower into a beacon tower, turn a courtyard into a garden, or create a grand hall from a large open space. The existing broken architecture provides natural inspiration for authentic-looking additions that blend seamlessly with the map's design.
