how do I get my items back after dying with universal graves?
Walk to the coordinates that appeared in your chat after death and right-click the grave block to open it and collect your items and experience. If you lost the coordinates, check your chat log or ask a friend to help you find the grave before it expires.
how long do I have before my grave disappears?
By default the grave breaks after a set time (around 15 minutes) and all items inside are lost, though the exact timer is configurable. If you're unsure of the current setting on your world or server, ask the owner or check the config file.
why can't I open my own grave?
Your grave is protected from other players for a short period after death, but you should always be able to access your own. If it's locked for you, the protection timer may have been changed in the config, or another player's grave is nearby and you're clicking the wrong one.
can other players steal from my grave?
By default the grave is protected from other players for a short window after you die, giving you time to get back. After that protection expires, anyone can loot it, and the config can disable protection entirely if the server owner chooses.
what happens to my grave if I die in lava or the void?
The grave spawns at or near your death location, so if you died in lava or the void the grave may be unreachable or destroyed. In those cases your items are usually lost, though some configs let you change how graves handle hazardous deaths.
how do I change how long my grave lasts or turn off protection?
Open the mod's configuration file and edit the grave timer and protection options, then reload or restart the game. You can also disable the mod during PvP and adjust hologram appearance from the same file.
does universal graves work in single player and on servers?
Yes, it works in single-player worlds and on small multiplayer servers with friends. On a server, the config is controlled by the server owner, so your personal settings won't apply there.
my grave is missing and I can't find it, what do I do?
Check your chat log for the death coordinates, since the grave spawns where you died and the message tells you where to look. If the timer already expired or you died in lava or the void, the grave and its contents are likely gone.
can I disable universal graves during PvP fights?
Yes, the config has an option to disable the mod during PvP so kills don't create graves. This is useful on PvP servers where you want normal death drops instead.
does universal graves cause lag or conflict with other mods?
The mod is lightweight and generally doesn't cause performance issues, since it only creates a grave block on death. Conflicts are rare, but if graves don't appear or items duplicate, check for other death-chest or inventory mods and adjust your configs.
