How to Decide Which UniMixins Modules You Actually Need

Start From Your Mod List

Before touching UniMixins, list the mods that rely on mixins. Each of those mods needs the core mixin functionality plus whatever extras its author targeted. Your job is to make sure exactly one source provides each extra.

Map Features to Modules

UniMixins provides its extras as separate modules rather than one bundle. Common categories include core mixin application, compatibility patches for other loaders or mods, and late or early mixin handling. Read the description of each module and match it against what your installed mods require.

The Decision Rule

  • If nothing else on your setup provides a feature, install the UniMixins module for it.
  • If another loader already provides it, skip that module.
  • If you are unsure, install the combined jar only when no other mixin loader is present.

Testing Incrementally

Add modules one at a time and launch between changes. This makes it obvious which module caused a problem if one appears. A mod that suddenly fails to apply its mixins usually means you removed a module it needed, or you now have two providers for the same feature.

Keeping It Clean

Once your setup is stable, note which modules you installed and why. Future mod additions are much easier to troubleshoot when you know exactly which extra each module was supplying.
