How to Use a Stoneholm Village as a Safe Base

A Stoneholm village is one of the safest places to set up a permanent base because it is already lit, walled in by stone, and full of rooms you can repurpose.

Securing a Room

  • Pick a room away from the main hallways so mobs wandering in from caves are less likely to reach you.
  • Block off side tunnels with cobblestone or your preferred block, leaving one controlled entrance.
  • Add a door and a second layer of blocks behind it to stop creepers from blowing through.
  • Place a bed, crafting table, furnace, and chests in your chosen room to convert it into a functional base.
  • Light any dark corners the village lighting missed, since unlit spots can still spawn hostile mobs.

Expanding Your Base

Knock out walls between adjacent rooms to create larger spaces, or dig your own branch tunnels off the village for storage, farms, and mining. Because the village is underground, you can mine straight out from any wall for resources without ever going to the surface. Keep a map or a torch-marked path so you do not get lost in the maze of halls.
