Customize Tooltip Colors for Different Item Rarities

Organizing Items by Rarity

Use the 16 available colors to create a visual rarity system for your server's items. Assign each rarity tier its own color for instant visual recognition.

1. Plan your rarity tiers (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, etc.)

2. Assign each tier a specific vanilla chat color from the mod's palette

3. Document your color scheme so all server admins use it consistently

4. Apply the corresponding tooltip color to every item of that rarity in your configurations

Implementation

When creating new items:

1. Determine the item's rarity tier

2. Reference your color scheme and select the matching tooltip color

3. Add the tooltip text with the rarity name or description

4. Reload your plugin configuration

5. Test the item to ensure the correct color displays

This creates a cohesive visual language across your server—players instantly recognize item value by tooltip color without reading text. Consider using darker colors for common items and brighter colors for legendary ones.
