Apply Multiple Tooltip Lines with Different Colors
Layering Information with Color Separation
While each item typically has one tooltip color, you can create visual hierarchy by structuring your tooltip text strategically.
1. Open your item's configuration file
2. In the tooltip text field, plan what information goes on each line
3. Use the single assigned color for the entire tooltip—all lines will share this color
4. Organize information from most important (first line) to least important (last line)
5. Use clear, concise language since all lines share one color
Alternative: Multiple Items for One Concept
If you need different information in different colors:
1. Create separate item variants in your configuration
2. Assign each variant a different tooltip color
3. Use /give commands or item menus to distribute the correct variant
4. Each variant displays its own colored tooltip
This approach works well for quest items, crafting materials, or collectibles where you want to highlight different attributes. Remember that the entire tooltip for one item uses a single color, so plan your text hierarchy accordingly.
