Understanding the Durability Warning and What Triggers It

What the Warning Means

The armor HUD exists because you normally cannot see armor durability without opening your inventory, which is exactly when a piece tends to break mid-fight. Beyond simply showing your four armor slots, the mod watches each piece and raises a warning when durability is running low. The warning is your cue to repair, replace, or retreat before the item shatters. Because the display is minimalist, the alert is what draws your eye rather than a wall of numbers.

Reacting to a Warning

When a piece starts flashing or otherwise calling attention to itself, treat it as a prompt to act. Open your inventory and hover the affected armor to read its remaining durability, then decide: repair it with the appropriate material on an anvil, swap in a spare piece, or leave the fight. If you are mid-combat, disengaging briefly is usually safer than losing the armor entirely, since a broken piece leaves that slot unprotected. Keep spare armor and repair materials in your inventory or ender chest so a warning does not force a trip home. After repairing or replacing the item, the warning clears on its own once durability is healthy again.

Learning to trust the warning means you stop losing gear to surprise breakages and can keep fighting with confidence.
