Reading Armor Durability at a Glance During Combat

What the Bar Shows

The overlay is a four-columned bar styled like the hotbar, with one column per armor slot: helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots. Each column reflects the condition of the item in that slot, so a quick glance tells you which pieces are healthy and which are worn. The design deliberately avoids dumping raw numbers on screen, keeping the information readable in the middle of a fight when you cannot spare attention for your inventory.

Building the Habit

Make checking the bar part of your combat rhythm. Before engaging a group of mobs, glance down to confirm all four columns look full. During a long fight, check again between waves; if a column is visibly depleted, that is your signal to back off, repair, or swap gear. Pair this with the mod's low-durability warning, which flags a piece before it breaks. Keep repair materials or backup armor accessible so a depleted column does not end your run. Over time the glance becomes automatic, and you will notice a failing piece long before it would have broken unnoticed.

The result is fewer lost enchantments and fewer deaths caused by armor silently falling apart.
