Understanding Armor Trim Compatibility
How Trims Work With Minimal Armor
Armor trims are decorative patterns that appear on vanilla armor pieces. This resource pack updates all trim designs to scale and fit properly on the new minimal armor shapes—crowns and shoulder pads—so they don't look stretched or misaligned.
Where Trims Appear
On the crown helmet: Trim patterns wrap around the small crown design, maintaining their visual style while fitting the reduced size.
On the shoulder pads: Trim details appear across the shoulder pieces without extending awkwardly or disappearing.
On leggings and boots: Shortened leg armor still displays trim patterns proportionally.
Recognizing Different Trims
Each trim type (copper, iron, gold, lapis, emerald, diamond, netherite, and redstone) keeps its distinctive color and pattern. Even on minimal armor, you can tell which trim a player is wearing from a distance.
Applying Trims
Use the standard vanilla method: combine your armor with a trim material and a smithing table. The minimal armor resource pack automatically renders the trim correctly on the smaller pieces without any extra steps needed.
