Mix Armor Tiers to Optimize Protection and Utility
Understanding Module Compatibility
The Truly Modular system allows you to combine protective properties and utility effects from different armor tiers. You aren't locked into using only diamond modules on diamond armor—you can blend lower and higher tier effects on a single piece.
Planning Your Build
Decide what protection level you need (physical defense) versus what utility matters most (mobility, special effects, resistances). Write down which modules from which tiers support your playstyle.
Crafting a Hybrid Piece
Place your base armor into the workbench. Install modules from multiple tiers—for example, combine a high-tier protection module with a lower-tier utility module that provides fire resistance or knockback reduction. The workbench will calculate the final stats.
Resource Management
Hybrid armor may cost more materials than single-tier pieces, as you're drawing from multiple upgrade paths. Ensure you have sufficient resources before committing to the craft.
Testing Your Configuration
Equip your mixed-tier armor and test it in combat or hazardous situations. Adjust your module selection if needed to better match your needs.
