Make Your Builds Look Better in Different Lighting
Understand Block Lighting Changes
TrueLightFX Lite alters how sunlight and block light interact with surfaces. Blocks now receive directional lighting that makes their geometry more visible—edges and slopes catch light differently than in vanilla.
Use Contrasting Materials
Pair blocks with different colors and textures to take advantage of the enhanced lighting. Light-colored blocks (like white concrete or birch wood) will pop against darker materials (obsidian, dark oak). The shader's vibrant colors make these contrasts even more striking.
Position Builds for Sun Angle
Build during times of day when sunlight hits your structure from angles you want to showcase. Early morning and late afternoon provide dramatic directional lighting. Use this to highlight architectural details like pillars, overhangs, or carved facades.
Add Intentional Shadows
Place taller structures or trees near your build to cast shadows that add depth. The shader's improved lighting makes these shadows cleaner and more defined.
Test Interior Lighting
Indoors, the shader brightens ambient light, so you need fewer torches for visibility. Use this to create cleaner interiors without cluttering walls with light sources.
