Reduce Lag Caused by Realistic Shadows

Identify Shadow Settings

Open the TrueLight FX settings menu and find shadow-related options. Look for shadow distance, shadow resolution, or shadow quality sliders.

Lower Shadow Distance

Reduce how far shadows render from your character. Closer shadows still look realistic but demand less processing power. Start by lowering this value and test performance.

Decrease Shadow Resolution

If available, lower the resolution of shadow maps. This makes shadows render faster with minimal visual loss at normal viewing distances.

Disable Advanced Shadow Features

Toggle off options like soft shadows, shadow filtering, or cascading shadows if your frame rate is still low. These enhance realism but cost performance.

Adjust Light Bounce and Reflections

Reduce or disable global illumination, light bouncing, or reflection quality. These create beautiful indirect lighting but are performance-intensive.

Monitor Frame Rate

After each change, observe your FPS in different environments. Make incremental adjustments until gameplay feels smooth while maintaining acceptable visual quality.
