Make Nighttime Lighting Look More Natural
Access Moon and Night Settings
Open the shader settings menu and locate options for moonlight, night brightness, or ambient lighting during darkness.
Adjust Moonlight Intensity
Increase moonlight brightness to make nights feel more realistic while still maintaining darkness. This affects how visible the terrain is under the moon without making it look like daytime.
Control Ambient Light at Night
Look for ambient light or global illumination sliders. Reducing these makes caves and deep shadows darker, while increasing them provides gentle fill light that mimics natural starlight.
Fine-Tune Shadow Color
Some shader packs let you adjust shadow color temperature. Cooler shadows (blue-tinted) feel more like moonlit nights, while warmer shadows feel artificial.
Test Different Times
Observe how your adjustments affect visibility and atmosphere in different locations—near water, under trees, and in open areas.
