Chop Trees Block by Block Manually
Hold Shift While Swinging
If you want to harvest a tree without triggering the instant-fell mechanic, hold Shift (or your configured sneak key) and swing your axe at the tree. This bypasses the mod's automatic tree detection and lets you chop logs one at a time, just like vanilla Minecraft.
Use Cases for Manual Chopping
Manual mode is useful when:
- You're harvesting a partial or damaged tree
- You want to preserve the tree structure for aesthetic reasons
- You're in a confined space and don't want logs flying everywhere
- You're testing or learning the mod's mechanics
Durability Cost
When chopping manually, your axe loses durability per block broken, following standard Minecraft axe behavior. This is typically less efficient than felling a whole tree at once, but gives you precise control over what gets harvested.
