Making Sodium's Translated Settings Easier to Read and Navigate

Adjusting the Interface Around the Translation

Once Sodium's menus are in your language, readability depends on your GUI scale, font, and contrast. These are separate from the translation pack but affect how usable the translated text feels.

Tweaks to Try

1. GUI Scale. Go to Options → Video Settings → GUI Scale and pick a size where translated labels are not cut off. Longer words in some languages need more horizontal room, so a smaller scale can prevent truncation.

2. Font choice. If you use a custom font resource pack, place it above or below the translation pack and compare — some fonts render accented or non-Latin characters poorly.

3. Fullscreen. Running fullscreen gives Sodium's settings window more space, which helps when translated strings are longer than the English originals.

4. Tooltips. Hover over each Sodium option; the tooltip explains what it does. Translated tooltips are the fastest way to understand unfamiliar settings without leaving the game.

Navigating Efficiently

  • Use the tabs inside Sodium's video settings to jump between quality, performance, and advanced options instead of scrolling.
  • Note which options you change most and set them once; Sodium remembers them per profile.
  • If a translated label is ambiguous, cross-reference the tooltip rather than guessing.

If Layout Looks Broken

Text overflow is a display issue, not a translation error. Lower the GUI scale or switch to fullscreen, then reload with F3 + T if the change does not apply immediately.
