Translate Chat Messages from Other Players

Automatic and Manual Translation

When other players send messages in a foreign language, the mod displays them in your chat. You have two options:

Automatic translation: The mod will translate incoming messages automatically based on your language settings. Open /taio and ensure your target language is selected in the chat translation section.

Manual translation: Next to each chat message, a clickable [T] button appears. Click it to translate that specific line on demand. This is useful if you want to read the original first or only translate certain messages.

Configuring Your Language

1. Type /taio to open the settings menu

2. Navigate to the chat translation settings

3. Select your target language from the dropdown

4. Confirm your AI provider is configured (OpenAI, Ollama, or another service)

5. Close the menu and return to chat

Messages will now appear translated in your language. The original text is preserved in the mod's memory, so you can always click [T] to see alternatives or re-translate if needed.
