How to Stop Trampling Your Crops While Wearing Boots

The core mechanic of this mod is simple: while you are wearing boots, you cannot turn farmland back into dirt by jumping or walking on it. This means you can farm, harvest, and move around your fields freely without ruining the soil under your feet.

What Counts as Boots

Any normal pair of boots works — leather, chainmail, iron, gold, diamond, netherite. The mod also checks for items tagged as tramplenomore:soft_boots, which is how modded boots and certain special footwear get included. If you are barefoot or wearing only leggings and a chestplate, farmland can still be trampled as usual.

Practical Steps

1. Craft or equip any pair of boots before you walk onto your farm.

2. Jump, sprint, and land on farmland as normal — the block will stay as farmland.

3. If you want to deliberately break farmland back into dirt (for example, to move a water channel), take your boots off first, then jump on the block.

4. Remember that this protection applies to the player only. Mobs, falling blocks, and other entities are not covered by the boot check, so keep animals fenced away from your fields.

If trampling still happens, double-check that your boots are actually equipped and not just sitting in your inventory.
