Why Your Custom Torch Texture Isn't Showing on Slabs

How the Mod Renders Torches

Torch Slabs Mod does not reuse the vanilla torch model directly. It uses its own separate model file, template_torch.json, located under torchslabmod/models/block/. Because of this, resource packs that only change the vanilla torch texture will usually still work, but resource packs that change the torch *model* will not affect torches placed on slabs.

Fixing a Model Resource Pack

If you use a resource pack that reshapes the vanilla torch and you want that shape to appear on slabs too, you need to override the mod's template model. Create a file at torchslabmod/models/block/template_torch.json inside your resource pack and point it at the same model your pack uses for the vanilla torch. Once overridden, torches on slabs will match the rest of your torches.

Texture-Only Packs

If your pack only swaps the torch texture and leaves the model alone, no extra work is needed. The mod will pick up the new texture automatically. Test in a creative world first so you can confirm the look before applying it to a survival build.
